My Dad was an amazing person and I miss him terribly. He died as a result of Lung Cancer last year but lived life to the full to almost the very end. His first love was his family which included his amazing Mum and Dad, his memorable brothers who have all sadly passed away and his little sister Clare! He then married Christine and had 3 girls who all felt adored by him - Julie, Jane and Clare. He was the best Dad anyone could have and he encouraged his 3 daughters to live life to the full as he had done all through his engineering apprenticeship, his time in the Merchant Navy and his full career with ICI. Daddy was a family man first and foremost but was also a talented engineer, great walker and loved to socialise with his many mates at Buxton Conservative Club. He nursed my Mum through an awful long-term illness but he remained positive, practical and strong throughout. He was a man of great wisdom and even greater humour - an irreplaceable rock in the lives of those who loved him. We miss him madly but celebrate the fact that we were so lucky to have had him as a Dad, brother, Grandpa, uncle and friend.
